Regarding the causes of the affection, double mitral regurgitation and incompetence, congenital syphilis, endocarditis, and malformation of the heart usually predominated, but the differential diagnosis in my cases has been rather difficult since these symptoms have not always been characteristic and further it is very difficult to handle such tiny babies and do all the systematic examination necessary in heart
